Almost a week after appleLove dropped, how are you feeling?
sollaceee!
Umm, I feel relief. It's a project that took more time to work on than KIDS CAN'T KILL!, so it feels more thorough. Which is why I give this tape more flowers than [KIDS CAN'T KILL!]. [KIDS CAN'T KILL!] was made in a day, but I felt like I could've sat on the ideas a bit longer so I could've made a more cohesive release.

KIDS CAN'T KILL! was made in a day? How'd you go about that?
sollaceee!
My mom was out of the house for the day, so I had the chance to just be loud, horny, and aggressive.

That's genuinely crazy. KIDS CAN'T KILL! is basically your debut album under your sollaceee! moniker. You announced a deluxe but swiftly moved to work on appleLove. Will that deluxe see the light of day anytime this year?
sollaceee!
Maybe? One of the producers sent me some beats that I wanted to use, but he ended up wanting to charge me. Dick move, so I kinda just buried the deluxe. Actually, scratch maybe—it's just not coming out at all. I think now that we’re on appleLove, there are more important things to be done than to go back to [KIDS CAN'T KILL!].

Will appleLove be getting a deluxe or a continuation? It's a mixtape after all, but will you continue that aesthetic on a different project?
sollaceee!
A sister EP will be in the works later this year, but I've been burned out lyrically. Right now, I'm just trying to produce because that was my original home.
jori
Ahhh yeah, I've noticed you've adopted a new producer alias for yourself, ruubie. It's unique knowing you cherish the idea of producing as well. Will you be balancing your craft between sollaceee! and ruubie from here on?
sollaceee!
That's the plan. ruubie is kind of for everyone. sollaceee! is really for me and whoever I choose to invite to that circle. I haven’t been producing as much in 2025, but I got FL Studio Producer Edition this year, so I'm going to use it as much as I can. There are still things to learn as a producer, but with time I’ll learn enough to executively produce my own music again. Maybe even other people too.
jori
That's very nice to know that you'll be diving more into the prod game this year. Is there any other project you'll be working on this year other than the appleLove sister EP, or will you be cooling off to focus on producing?
sollaceee!
Something secret is being worked on, but nobody will see that until probably next year or the following. Who knows how long, but all I know is that I’ll be working hard on this secret. May it be my best work yet.

Can't wait to see when that's revealed. Let's talk about the crazy chain of events yesterday. You got to meet Earl Sweatshirt and get an exclusive vinyl, how'd you feel during those moments?
sollaceee!
Earl and MIKE are special to me. Jayys and I took a bunch of inspiration from them for our earlier music before disquiet and [KIDS CAN'T KILL!]. Finally seeing Earl in person is really a lifelong dream for me. I'm going to try and see them on the tour they got going on this summer.
jori
When exactly did you start your music journey?
sollaceee!
I was at northernscene's house back in 2021. Donda dropped that morning, and after we listened to the album, I really didn't know what to do, so I asked him if he made music, and from there I just made my first beat. It was a Pi'erre/Playboi Carti type beat that's honestly outdated as fuck, but it sparked me to start making beats. At first, I was using Soundtrap because I got put onto it while taking a music class, which honestly is terrible. But I was making beats during class time, and I just felt so inspired. I didn’t even know a quarter of the artists I know now back in 2021.
jori
Since you're focusing heavily on production this year and want to produce for other people, who is currently on your dream placement list? Who do you want to send a ruubie beat to right now?
sollaceee!
Honestly, just more RAINOUT members. Those are the people I can for sure trust with a beat from me. I'd also like to get some stuff done with, hopefully, bleood. He's deadass my inspiration. I saw him yesterday, and it was one of the greatest shows I've been to. lucy bedroque too.

With how far you've come so far, I can see you achieving these in the coming years. If someone discovers sollaceee! five years from now and the first thing they listen to is appleLove, what is the one specific feeling or message you hope they walk away with?
sollaceee!
I hope they walk away confused. appleLove has so many distinct sounds that someone would genuinely get confused on what the project is about. Honestly, I don't even know what the tape is about, but I titled it appleLove because I love apples.

Alright, let's wrap things up with an off-topic question. If you had your own sollaceee! special meal in any fast food chain, what would it have? What chain would it be in?
sollaceee!
Huh. I would have a double cheeseburger with lettuce, grilled onions, bacon, and egg with fries and a strawberry milkshake from Stormburger. No pickles or tomato whatsoever. I'd rather rub my face in a shitty ass before I consume a pickle.
